Community Programs
The Fire Districts Vision is to Serve, Educate, Train, and Protect, and community outreach is a key element of this vision.
Being connected to the community with a focus on customer service has been a priority for Canby Fire for more than 60 years, and will continue to be an organizational priority 360 days a year, on a 24 hour 7 day a week basis.
Whether it’s a simple blood pressure check at the fire station or active involvement at General Canby Days, we are there for the community we serve. Whether it’s providing trained medical crews standing-by at a Canby High School sporting event, or giving fire truck rides at Breakfast with Santa, we are there for the community we serve. Whether it’s simply serving lunch to the seniors at the Adult Center on Mondays, or hosting a food and toy drive at Christmas, we are there for the community we serve. Whether it’s participating in the Canby Kiddy Parade just prior to the fair, or training citizens emergency preparedness through our CERT program, we are there for our community. Whether it’s setting up interactive safety activities at the Knight School Carnival, or utilizing our Chaplain Fund to help someone adversely impacted by tragedy, we are there for our community. Bottom line, we are there for our community because we care.
The fire district also connects with its community by working closely with Canby High School. Our staff regularly participates in Future Focus job interview skill building and work ethics panel discussions. We also work with the Leadership group on outreach activities, which include our Christmas food and toy drive. And our firefighters are very proud to display the Canby Cougar mascot on all the front line emergency equipment.
The Fire District also connects with its business community through active participation with civic and service groups like the Canby Area Chamber of Commerce and the Canby Rotary We also work closely with the City of Canby and our service providers through our Emergency Operations Group.
