Station Tour and Fire Engine Show Off

One of the most requested activities for Canby Fire District is fire station tours and fire engine show offs. The goal to our tours and show offs is to share some of our tools of the trade and talk about the importance of fire safety.

Fire station tours occur at our headquarters fire station, located at 221 S. Pine Street. The station houses our administrative offices, the volunteer firefighter activities room, the training and meeting room, the firefighters living quarters, the apparatus bay filled with fire equipment, and the newest addition, our fire district museum. During our Fire Prevention Week tours we include a crawl low under smoke activity, and also talk about the importance of working smoke alarms.

Fire engine show offs differ from station tours in that Canby Firefighters bring the fire apparatus out to the event. During the on site visit our firefighters show the groups the fire apparatus and the equipment carried. Depending on time frame and site capability, sometimes our firefighters also let the children spray water from a real fire hose

In celebration of Fire Prevention Week, Canby Fire District attempts to schedule fire station tours to all of our kindergarten classrooms during the month of October. All other tours are scheduled on a request basis. If you or your group is interested in a fire station tour or a fire engine show off, please call our office at 503.266.5851. And please try to give our firefighters 30 days advance notice, as schedules fill up quickly.
